1. What types of information can we learn about the film and actors from this website?
From the website we can learn all of the actors names and pictures to identify them. We can also find out that the film won two awards at the Academy Awards in 2007 and that an actress was nominated for Best Performance. There is a brief description of the film, clips and pictures of the best bits of the film.
Is the website interactive for the consumer and in what ways?
The website allows you to interact by having photos and videos to give you an idea of the film.
It also has Twitter and Facebook blogs so that consumers can give feedback.
To keep the audience interested in the film after its finish showing in cinemas they have set up "Add your little sunshine inspired photos", also there is a myspace page and available downloads for your desktop, screen savers etc to help advertise the film.
Which marketing strategies are evident on this website?
One of the marketing strategies is keeping viewers interested in the film by keeping them interactive by creating blogs, downloads etc.
Another way strategy is attracting people who haven't seen the movie by posting videos and pictures to make interested, and story information.
By naming the actors on the home page it may attract viewers who follow / enjoy watching specific actors.
Why do you think these methods are being used for this film?
The methods used aren't specific to this film, most films use this type of marketing as its cheaper to run, and advertises every aspect of the film; Actors, story line, producers etc.
