Juno is a classic example of a niche film at the time of release it had no notable actors/actresses and was based on a book that wasn't particularly well known; also it wasn't produced by any of the major studios. On the day of release it took in just $414 thousand and only had 7 screens. However after 10 weeks of dvd sales, $55.8 worth of dvd's had been sold equivelant to the opening weekend of the pirates of the caribean.
